Plant Texture File Formats
Plant textures are provided in multiple formats.
- JPG (one for the image, and another for alpha)
- TGA (32-bit with embedded alpha)
- SKP (SketchUp version 6 or higher)
Textures are photographs of real plants and most are 1500-2500 pixels in width or height. This ensures life-like rendering quality for even the highest resolution renderings. Download sample (6.7 MB).
Shipped DVD and Download Option
All orders include shipped DVD and download option. Once you make your purchase, you will have the option of downloading the plants. However, the plants are very large (up to 4 GB) and can take several hours or more to download, even over a fast broadband connection. Whether you download the plants or not, your DVD will be shipped the next business day.
Compatible with AutoCAD and Other Software
Textures are compatible with all major 2D/3D CAD and image editing software.
In fact, we use the very same plants in our professional landscape design software. Compatible software includes:

- AutoCAD
- 3D Studio Max
- Autodesk VIZ
- LightWave 3D
- Form Z
- Cinema 4D
|
- SketchUp (Ver 6)
- Bryce
- Photoshop

Special Support for SketchUp
Add realistic trees and plants to your SketchUp designs. All plant textures are provided in SketchUp SKP format. Simply copy them to your SketchUp Components directory and then drag-n-drop into your scenes. Textures are stored using the PNG file format for maximum compatibility with SketchUp.
Each SKP file contains the plant image in two formats: polygonal and billboard. The polygonal version is a high-resolution polygon that accurately follows the contour of the plant image, a must for realistic shadows. The billboard version is a simple rectangle and ensures complex scenes remain fast and responsive.
You can easily switch between versions by showing and hiding the appropriate layers. Use the low-resolution layer for editing, and then switch to the high-resolution layer for final rendering. View example.
Note: SKP textures have been reduced in size to a maximum of 1024 in width and height. This is necessary for fast rendering on 3D video cards.
Special Borders Ensure Seamless Alpha Blending
All plant textures include a special 16 pixel border around all opaque/transparent transitions. This ensures your renderings and presentations appear realistic and lifelike.

Plant Hardiness Zones
The plant information listed above includes each plant's hardiness zones. These zones represent the coldest areas in which the plant is likely to succeed. Annuals can typically be grown anywhere and are listed with all zones (1-11).
